Welcome to Dermafreeze
Ask anyone on the team what Dermafreeze is and you will get roughly the same answer, usually with a half-smile. It is a cooling gel. It is also a warming gel. It smells like mint and lavender, goes on light, and lives in the small pocket of your day between "I went hard" and "now I am done." That second half is the part we care about, and it is the reason this brand exists.
Dermafreeze is a hemp extract topical. There are two formulas: a blue Cooling Gel and an orange Warming Gel, both built around one delivery system called NanoSys. Each comes as a roll on or a larger squeeze, and the two roll ons travel together as the Heat & Chill Duo. That is the whole catalog, at least for now. We would rather make two things well than five things so-so.
This blog is where we will talk about why the brand exists, how the formulas are built, and what using them actually feels like. No jargon, no drama, no lab talk. Just the story of a small product line that started with a shovel, a long Saturday, and an idea about temperature.
The Cooling Gel on dark. It goes on thin and leaves a clean, steady cool.
Why We Started
The idea behind Dermafreeze did not begin with molecules. It began with a late Saturday, a full day of yard work, a shovel leaning against the fence, and the growing feeling that the best part of the day should not stop the moment the work does.
We started looking at the shelves of gels and balms around us and kept finding the same thing: thick, sticky, heavy on the nose. Products that sat on your skin like a coat instead of joining the moment. Nothing that felt like the end of a good effort, and nothing that felt like it belonged to the rest of the evening.
The question we kept circling was simple. What if the after-activity moment could feel like the season? Cool when the day is hot. Warm when the day is cold. And on the right evening, both.
That is where the name came from, and where the two formulas came from. One is about the moment after the effort. The other is about the moment later, when the day finally goes quiet. The pair together is the whole idea, and it still is.
It also had to be something you would actually carry. So we built the idea in two shapes. A roll on, small and precise, roughly the size of a marker, for a gym bag or a desk drawer. A squeeze, bigger and more generous, for the shelf where the long evenings happen. Same formula, two personalities.
What We Make Now
Here is the short roster.
- Dermafreeze Cooling Gel Roll On (3 oz): a precision tip and a thin application, made to travel.
- Dermafreeze Cooling Gel Squeeze (4 oz): the same formula with more ground covered per pass.
- DermaHeat Warming Gel Roll On (3 oz): a slow, building warmth in the same slim format.
- DermaHeat Warming Gel Squeeze (4 oz): a radiating warmth across a wider area.
- The Heat & Chill Duo: both roll ons in one set. Toss one in the gym bag, keep one at your desk.
Every bottle carries the same quiet mark: NanoSys. It is the delivery system named on the label, and it is the reason the gel stays light on your hand. If you want the full read on it, that is the second post on this blog, and it is worth the trip.
The Heat & Chill Duo: cool on one side, warmth on the other.
What's Inside, Simply
Open the label and you find a short list: hemp extract in a nanosized form, menthol, camphor, arnica oil, peppermint essential oil, lavender essential oil, and tocopherol acetate, better known as vitamin E. In the plainest words, it is a hemp extract topical, and that is exactly what it is.
Each ingredient does a job you can notice with your own senses. Peppermint arrives first, bright and cold. Camphor and arnica add a green, herb-shelf depth. Lavender settles in last, soft and round, so what you carry around is not a scent bomb. It is a clean, minty room you walked through. Vitamin E keeps the formula stable from the first squeeze to the last.
The texture is the honest part: a thin, watery-feeling gel that rubs in without a fight and leaves no film. Your hand should feel clean when you are done, not coated. That was the bar when we built it, and it still is.
The botanical side of the lineup: peppermint, lavender, arnica, camphor.
How It Fits a Day
The Cooling Gel is the doorbell moment. You come in from a run, a bike ride, a long summer afternoon in the yard, and you roll or squeeze a thin coat onto the body areas that carried the day. It takes about as long as it takes to tell someone what you just did. Then you wash your hands, and the day has officially closed.
The Warming Gel is the evening version. After a cold walk, after a long day standing, after the dishes and the last phone call, you reach for the orange bottle. It is the slower, broader counterpart, and it is the bottle people tell us they forget they have until the first cold night of the year, which is exactly the night it was made for.
Keep both in reach and the rhythm takes care of itself. Cool at the door. Warm at night. And on the evenings you want both, that is precisely what the Heat & Chill Duo is for.
Where This Blog Goes
There is more coming: a walk through the science of the formula, a full routine guide, ingredient notes, and the occasional report from the workshop. We will keep it honest and keep it short. The promises stay on the label, and the fun goes in the build.
In the meantime, the welcome is real. Roll on. Feel the cooling. Then tell us what the rest of your day felt like.
