01 · Particle size, measured
The Particle System
NanoSys is a particle system. Seven key ingredients are micronized into one gel base.
The particles are typically under 100 nanometers. For scale, a human hair is about 80,000 nanometers wide.
The dial below shifts the stage between the measured size of the particles and the reference scale of the hair.
02 · Particle size vs. a human hair
The Scale
At ≤100 nanometers in diameter, the particles sit far below the width of a human hair, about 80,000 nanometers.
The number line maps both sizes to the same axis.

03 · Seven key ingredients, one particle system
The Lineup
Every formula uses the same seven ingredients in one NanoSys base.
- 01●Menthol
Peppermint, spearmint & other mint oils
A cyclic terpene alcohol obtained from the oils of peppermint, spearmint, and other mint plants. Crystallizes at room temperature. One of the most studied compounds in topical compositions.
- 02●Camphor
Wood of the camphor laurel tree
A waxy terpenoid found in the wood of the camphor laurel tree (Cinnamomum camphora) and related species. Also produced synthetically. Characterized by a strong, sharp aroma.
- 03●Capsaicin
Naturally occurring in chili peppers
The alkaloid responsible for the heat of chili peppers (genus Capsicum). Its intensity is measured on the Scoville scale, standardized to 16 million heat units for pure capsaicin.
- 04●Arnica
Arnica montana flower heads
A perennial herb in the sunflower family, native to mountainous regions of Europe. The flower heads are processed to extract sesquiterpene lactones, the principal constituents.
- 05●Peppermint
Mentha × piperita essential oil
A hybrid mint, a natural cross between watermint and spearmint. Its essential oil is composed primarily of menthol (30-50%), menthone, and other terpenoids. Known for a sharp, cool aroma and a smooth texture in gels.
- 06●Lavender
Lavandula angustifolia flowers
Derived from the flowers of true lavender, a flowering shrub in the mint family. Rich in linalool and linalyl acetate, which together comprise over 60% of the oil's composition. Adds a floral note.
- 07●Ginger
Rhizome of Zingiber officinale
The root of a flowering plant native to Southeast Asia. Contains gingerols and shogaols, the pungent compounds of the rhizome. Harvested, dried, and processed into extracts for topical compositions. Rich in volatile oils.
